I enclose a copy of a letter of introduction which I have given to a bunch of Northern Nationalists. Sorry to be a plague about this but McAteer and McCarroll1 both cut a lot of ice. As you know both feel a little sore about the Government's refusal to admit Six-County Anti-Partitionists into Leinster House and we think that a little official attention in Rome may do a lot to mollify them. Both are decent men and do not belong to the Molly Maguire section of the League. McAteer is, perhaps, not very bright but is respected for his sincerity; McCarroll is quite a good journalist - very Fianna Fáil in outlook but with an open mind on some things. For instance although he bitterly criticised the idea of an Irish news agency his paper is now one of the Agency's best clients.
