Following consideration of a memorandum dated the 14th April, 1948, submitted by the Minister for Industry and Commerce,¹ it was decided that the proposal for the establishment of an Irish Transatlantic Air Service should be abandoned, that all capital equipment acquired for the purpose of such a service should be sold to the best advantage and that Aerlínte Éireann, Teoranta, should be wound up.
