Letter from Frederick H. Boland to Rabbi Isaac Hertzog (Jerusalem)
(Copy)

Dublin, 27 January 1947

Dear Chief Rabbi,
I make haste to thank you for your letter of the 16th January. It was good of you to write.

I showed your letter to Mr. de Valera. He appreciated greatly your kind references to this country, and is very glad that the arrangements for the relief consignment are now reaching completion. He asked me to send you his kind remembrances.

I had the pleasure of meeting your son1 here last week and we had a pleasant and very interesting conversation.

The arrangements in connection with the consignment of tinned meat are now being pushed on as rapidly as possible, and I hope that it will be in course of shipment before very long. We shall not fail to let you know when it has been shipped.

Thanking you again, and with kindest remembrances, I am, dear Chief Rabbi,

Yours sincerely,
[unsigned]

1 Chaim Hertzog (1918-97), President of Israel (1983-93).
