Following consideration of a memorandum dated 2nd June, 1947,¹ submitted by the Minister for External Affairs, the initiation of a scheme for the development of our cultural relations with other countries was approved on the lines indicated in the memorandum, subject to the proposed financial provision for the scheme being increased from £5,000 to £10,000 a year.
