Your wire No. 33 of 2nd inst.,¹ just to hand. Here are your credentials for the forthcoming Assembly, which do not refer to any session by number, as, apparently, you will be attending two sessions in quick succession.

As you will have learned from our latest wire,² we cannot release anyone (meaning me!) for the League. The fact is the Secretary and Nolan are theoretically on the point of departing for Rome and are both frightfully busy with preparations, while Fred is actually in London for the Food Conference. That leaves us short and I dare not suggest deserting, - much as I would like to join you for a fortnight's 'work'. Hope you will not find same too heavy and that you will have a pleasant time in Geneva renewing old acquaintances.
