BERLIN, 29 May 1943

Since German collapse in Tunis, there has been little worth reporting. While nobody expected Tunis could be held indefinitely, it was bitter disappointment to people that Axis forces broke up so completely in such a short time after main Anglo-American assault.

Official comment has been engaged for some months past on fresh campaign against Jews. Jewish Bolsheviks blamed for murdering Polish officers in Katyń,1 and more recently it was alleged plans to destroy dams in Western Germany emanated from Jewish emigrants in England. After each air raid Jews are evicted to make room for people who have lost their apartments in raids.

The Jews are deported to East.

1 News of the massacre of Polish officers at Katyń Forest by the Russian NKVD was released by Germany in April 1943.
