  1. I am to inform you that the Government, on the 19th instant, decided that any legislative proposals arising out of the proposed agreements with the British Government should be referred to a Committee of the Cabinet consisting of the Taoiseach, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, the Minister for Finance and the Minister for Agriculture for consideration and settlement at all stages up to and including the approval of the text and the authorisation of circulation to deputies2.
  2. In pursuance of this decision, the Committee on the 23rd instant, authorised the drafting of a Bill relating to the payment of a capital sum to Great Britain and a Bill relating to trade and finance. (S.10635)
  3. The texts of these Bills, when ready, should be submitted to this Department for approval by the Committee.
