The Taoiseach reported on a discussion which he and the Minister for External Affairs had on the 22nd April, 1955, with a group of representatives of Nationalists in the Six Counties in regard to arrangements for contesting seats in Six-County constituencies in the General Election for the British Parliament to be held on the 26th May, 1955.

Following consideration of the Taoiseach’s report, a Cabinet Committee, comprising the Taoiseach, the Tánaiste¹ and the Ministers for Education,² Justice³ and External Affairs, was established to keep the situation in this matter under review and to take any action that might be necessary or desirable.
